Film, Television and Theatre Writer-Producer-Director Steven Rumbelow Dies at 66

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 2, 2016 / British born writer-director and producer of film, television and theatre Steven Rumbelow passed away on Saturday, February 27 in Toronto, Canada. The news of his sudden and unexpected death from sepsis was reported by his wife, Rachel Rumbelow.
Rumbelow was born on July 22, 1949 in Bristol, England. His entertainment career launched in the early 1970's with theatre and stage in London, and grew into a prolific body of work in film, television and stage spanning more than forty years. Most recently, Rumbelow and his wife had operated the independent production company, Renegade Motion Pictures, in Toronto. Rumbelow is survived by his wife, Rachel, and two children: a son, Dick Tolson and a daughter Svea Rumbelow. He is predeceased by his mother, Rita Rumbelow, father, Mike Marino and daughter, Marin Rumbelow.

Rumbelow's supernaturally-themed "BEYOND" TV series was distributed in the U.S. Cable Market by Comcast, and is currently available on both Hulu and Amazon Instant Video. He produced more than 50 episodes as well as performing most of the writing and directing duties for the series. Rumbelow also directed ten feature films, beginning in 1976 with "King Lear" and most recently with the thriller, "The Deed" (aka "The Covenant"). Two upcoming Rumbelow feature film projects have been slated for launch at Cannes Film Festival this May: the supernatural/horror "The Summoning" and the action-adventure "Over The Edge," both set as production and distribution ventures with Hannover House and Medallion Releasing.
Rumbelow has directed around 150 theatre productions around the world. He started his notable career in theatre working for Bristol Old Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company. From this start he adapted Christopher Marlowe's Dr. Faustus into a 60-minute play that was so successful, he began the show in 1971 and toured all over the world with it until the late nineties.
